  • No. We are an academic consultancy. You remain the "Primary Educator" in the eyes of the state, while we serve as your professional partner, lead instructor, and compliance manager.

  • Homeschooling in New Mexico requires 1,140 hours of instruction per year. High Desert Scholastic provides the professional Lead Instruction and Curriculum Mapping, but we do not provide all 1,140 hours in person. Instead, we act as your academic partners: we provide the high-impact direct instruction and the detailed "Flight Plan" for the remaining hours, which you (the parent) facilitate. We provide the tools and the professional logging to ensure that the combined effort meets and exceeds state requirements with ease.

  • Think of us as your Academic Chief of Staff. We provide the expertise, the lesson plans, and the core instruction, but you remain the primary heart of your home. You’ll be responsible for supervising the independent work days we map out in your 'Blueprint' and ensuring a consistent environment for our in-home sessions.

  • Because we offer a high-touch, licensed professional service, our tiered packages range from $300 to $1,250+ per month, depending on the level of instructional support and management your family requires. We also offer a one-time 'Sage Review' for families looking for a singular audit. During our initial Discovery Call, we will provide a transparent quote based on your specific student needs and any 'Bespoke' customizations.

  • Yes. High Desert Scholastic is a mobile consultancy. We bring all necessary instructional materials and a "classroom-in-a-bag" directly to your home in the NE Heights, Sandia Heights, or surrounding Albuquerque areas.

  • Every landscape is different. If you need a hybrid of our services—for example, a "Sage Review" with a once-a-month "In-Home Intensive"—we are happy to build a contract specifically for your family.

  • For the safety of the student and the consultant, we require a parent or designated adult guardian to be present on the property during all in-home instructional sessions.

  • We typically work on a semester-basis to ensure academic continuity, but we offer a "Discovery Week" for new families to ensure the fit is perfect before committing to a full term.

  • We provide all specialized instructional materials, lab kits, and the 'classroom-in-a-bag' for our sessions. For core curriculum books (workbooks, novels, etc.), we provide you with a curated 'Shopping List' of exactly what to buy, ensuring your student has their own permanent copies of their educational resources.
